Frosty the Snowman...Really

It snowed again! This time, though, we had a tremendous ice storm (notice the beautiful tree in the background) before the snow. Plus, it was a wet snow instead of dry and powdery. In my opinion, this one was much prettier. The point, though, is that Abby has now built her first snowman. Didn't she do a nice job? Unfortunately, Frosty fell over only a few hours after his arrival. Jeremy and I were very thankful that Abby is not older, requesting (in tears) that we bring Frosty back to life. :)

December Record High

Today, Amarillo set a record high for the month of December...a balmy 75 degrees. Mind you, it is supposed to snow again in 2 days. To celebrate the tropical weather, we took Abby to the park for the first time. As you can see, she was thrilled to swing and slide with Mommy and Daddy. She also had fun climbing a rock and dangling from the monkey bars (with a little help from Daddy and under the close supervision of Mommy). We'll be sure to return for more fun upon the next thaw.

Christmas Bib

Isn't my new Christmas bib just adorable? I can't wait for Christmas to get here! I even went to see Santa again yesterday and didn't cry. Well, I didn't cry until Mommy walked away to look at my picture. She can't put the picture on my blog because of copyright laws, but take my word for it, it is very cute!

She Crawls...

Our days of watching Abby just sit on the floor and play are officially over. She went from army crawling to real crawling within less than 24 hours. It is like she woke up on Sunday morning and knew how to crawl. We are so proud of her! We have some great video clips of her abilities but I am having trouble figuring out how to add them so a verbal update will have to do for now.

Santa Claus

A week ago, Abby and I went to Emory for the weekend. We met my lifelong friend, Dana Mangus, and her little girl, Macie, at North Park Mall. When Dana and I were kids, we went every Christmas with two other friends, Anna and Mandy. We always visited Scrooge's house, looked at all of the elaborate decorations, and sat on Santa's lap. As is apparent in the following pictures, our girls were not very amused by Santa. However, their grandmothers found it very entertaining! :)

Abby was not sure to begin with...

"Wait a minute...Macie is crying...
Something must be terribly wrong...I better cry too!"

Frosty the Snowman

And oh was it frosty! We had 8 1/2 inches of snow in Amarillo and even got a snow day. Abby got stuck in a wretched snow suit and plopped in the middle of the snow for a picture. We later discovered that the reason she couldn't sit up was because it was actually too small; her legs were curled like a frog inside. Poor baby, but cute picture anyway. After all of the comotion, Abby got to enjoy a snowball while thawing by the fire. But eat fast...because snowballs melt quickly when toasty.

First Thanksgiving

Abby had such fun during her first Thanksgiving. She traveled to Stamford and spent a few days visiting grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She enjoyed swinging with her cousins, pictured left to right, Abby, Braleigh, Madison, Kelsey, and Alex. Most of all, though, she found those few nibbles from the table to be quite scrumptious. Mommy had to break the rules a little...it was Thanksgiving!
