Mother's Day

So I'm posting this for two reasons: 1) to show how cute Abby's hair is in pigtails and 2) to brag on her on Mother's Day. Because I had a final on the day after Mother's Day, we didn't really do much to celebrate. On Saturday, though, when I got home from taking a test, Abby met me at the door with two packages of sour gummy candies. She was grinning from ear to ear, screeching "Mama," bouncing up and down, and bursting with hugs and kisses. Apparently, she and Jeremy had gone to buy a card and candy for me, and while he had instructed her to wait until the next day to give them to me, she could not stand the suspense. It is amazing how such a simple sign of love can mean so much. Thank you Jeremy and Abby Grace for such a magnificent gift.

2 Year Check-Up

Abby Grace had her second year check-up on April 23rd and received an excellent report. She weighs 27.4 pounds (50%) and is 35 1/2 inches (90th) tall. The most interesting part is that if she stays on track, she will be 6 feet tall when she is fully grown. Wow, that is really tall! In case you didn't know, you are supposed to take a child's height at age 2 and double it to get an estimate of their adult height.
In other news, Abby is still going full speed ahead. She has become extremely independent since her second birthday and wants to do everything with, "No Help!" This makes getting dressed in the mornings an extremely drawn out process, but she has to learn somehow. Potty training is also coming along. In fact, she rarely has any accidents at school anymore. She even got to wear big girls panties the other day for a while. On to talking. Abby still does not talk very much but is making progress. She recently started adding the last letter's sound to the end of her words, but she quite frequently doubles that sound. Therefore, words come out as "sock-k-k" and "top-p-p." It is really cute. Her current interests include Elmo, babies, kitties, white trucks, balls, and bugs. The last three items often make me wonder if I have a little girl or a little boy. Ha!

Eagle Baseball

So baseball is over for the year, and as always, we are very sad. But it has been a fantastic year! For those of you that don't know, this was Jeremy's first year as a head coach and he could not have asked for a better group of guys to coach. Their final record was 14-12, and they finished 2nd in district. Way to go Eagles!

A fun picture

Before the playoff games, Abby and I met the guys at Fazoli's to eat lunch. Abby and I arrived before them, so we went inside and ordered a cookie to nibble on while they ate. She happily sat beside me...until...the guys arrived. Then I was quickly abandoned so that she could sit at the table with them. Jeremy and I think she truly believes that she has 14 brothers. But why wouldn't she? They have basically become our kids.

Meeting with the umps before game 3

Yes, we made it to game 3 and that was quite the accomplishment considering we lost a pitcher to an injury during game 1 on Friday night. So as it played out, we lost game 1, won game 2, and lost game 3. Which brought us to the end of the season. But the Eagles played their hearts outs, and I have never seen them play like they played to win that second game.

Birthday Party

Abby Grace's second birthday party was a huge success. The theme was butterflies and we had it in the backyard. Abby had lots of family and friends that were able to come help her celebrate.

Eating hotdogs with her friend, Peyton and cousin, Madison. Abby was an excellent gift unwrapper this year.
