First Step(s)

Abby Grace took her first step on Sunday! Actually she took two. She was standing beside and playing with her Exersaucer, let go, and smiling, took two steps. She then landed in my lap. Since then, she has taken another 6 or so at various times. Her daddy and I were so proud. So why in the world is Abby sitting in this picture? Because she refused to stand up in the grass! So much for standing for a first step picture...

Planting Flowers

Gran (yes her name has changed from Granmom...at least for now) is teaching me how to plant flowers!! Hopefully mine will be as pretty as hers are each summer. For some reason, though, by the time the afternoon was over, they were calling me names like, "Pig Pen" and "Grimey Baby." I think my feelings may be hurt. :) Anyway, we finished the day by Daddy cooking hotdogs outside for dinner. Yummy!

Zoo

Abby's cousins, Kelsey and Braleigh, and her DMama came for the first half of Spring Break. One afternoon, we all went to the zoo. For the most part, she is still a little young to find much interest in the animals. However, she did perk up when she saw the monkeys eating their dinner.

1st Birthday Party

Abby attended her first birthday party last Saturday. It was a "Wildcat" party for the head baseball coach's son, complete with a Wildcat cake and the guys on the baseball team. Although you can't tell it from the picture, she had a magnificent time. Thanks Tate for inviting Abby to your 3rd birthday party!!

Tackling the Giant Rocking Chair

It is official! Abby is part monkey; she is climbing everything. Her latest feat is climbing into the giant rocking chair in her room. I think we are going to have to buy her a rope and harness so she can tackle Mt. Everest next!

Sassy Goes to School

The theme at Abby's school for February has been "pets." They learned songs, looked at pictures, and talked about how to be nice to animals. Yesterday, as a finale, Ms. Sandra and Ms. Chelsea asked if Abby could bring Sassy to meet her friends. So after my classes yesterday morning, I picked Sassy up and took her to visit (discussing with her the whole way how to be nice to 7 children at once). Abby was thrilled to show off her puppy to Brennan, Jake, her toddler friends, and her teachers. Sassy also had a wonderful time and was on her very best behavior. I was so proud of her!
