What else is going on in Abby's world? She is standing by herself, and has been for about 1 1/2 weeks. She is now so good at it that she bounces and claps for herself. Abby has also learned to blow kisses (2 days ago). The first few times she did it, she would bonk herself in the head, but has now realized that blowing kisses is a delicate process. In addition, she likes to "feed herself." This actually involves her holding on to the spoon and me guiding it. She definitely understands the concept of mouth, bowl, mouth though.
There always come a few challenges with being ten months old. Yesterday, Abby fell at her school and hit her knoggin. She is fine but has a little bruise for proof. She is also having to learn the hated word of, "No." She gets it, but does not like it. She always whines in discontent when she is scolded. However, at this point, scolding is a pretty rare event. I feel it is important to allow her to explore relatively uninhibited unless she can get hurt or might hurt somebody else. So instead, we frequently practice the art of distraction!
