Red River, New Mexico

A couple of weeks ago, we took a weekend trip to Red River with some friends from Borger. On the first day, Abby was a little concerned about the fish "she caught" with her Dora fishing pole; she kept asking if it was hurt. We explained that it was okay (it was temporarily still swimming on a string). Worried that she would panic when it came time to clean the fish, I questioned Jeremy as to what he intended to say then. Amazingly, simply saying we were cleaning them so we could eat them did the trick. By our last day, Abby was carrying the fish like a pro!

Some of our other activities while there included limited hiking (Jeremy had to carry Abby the whole time because she refused to walk and considering my track record, it was unsafe for me to carry her while climbing), riding a "bicycle" through town, riding the ski lift to the top of the mountain for a better view, and hanging out around the campfire at our friends' campsite (we stayed in a cabin!). While all of this was fun, the best part may have been the weather. One day, the temperature never got above 70.
